ALL-PIGSKINPRESS.COM TEAM 2009

Offense

QB-Jimmy Claussen Notre Dame-Not much went right for the Irish this year, no one can blame any of the their failures on Claussen who turned in a 161.4 passer rating including 28 touchdowns to only 4 INTs.
JIMMY CLAUSEN

Non-AQ all-pigskinpress.com team

Offense

QB-Case Keenum Houston-No individual QB was asked to do more than Keenum to keep his team in games. Keenum could put up respectable numbers in any style of offense

RB-Ryan Matthews Fresno State-Take away the missed time due to the concussion, and Matthews could very well have broken 2,000 yards; can’t wait for his senior push for some Heisman love.
ryan matthews

RB-Donald Buckram UTEP-While all the attention was on Trevor Vittatoe, it was Buckram who single handedly kept UTEP semi-competitive with 1,594 yards in his junior year.

WR-Freddie Barnes BGSU-This is the kind of season everybody thought he could have. His 138 receptions lead all FBS receivers.

WR-Greg Salas Hawaii-1,590 yards with a revolving door at QB was not to shabby for the junior WR.

TE-Dennis Pitta BYU-The next Jason Witten/Dallas Clark type in the NFL

OL-TCU- Marcus Cannon and company provided terrific protection for QB Andy Dalton, as well as allowing their big three running backs to put up over 2,000 yards combined. Balance is the key to this starting five.

K-Kevin Goessling Fresno State-15 of 16 kicks were good, with his only miss coming from the 40-49 yard range and a long of 52. He’s come a long way since his debacle against Wisconsin in 2008. Did we mention 51/51 on extra points?

P-Matt Dodge East Carolina- A 45.8 ypc average is impressive. He’s also increased his average by two yards per kick over his three years at ECU.

KR-Dwayne Harris ECU-27.4 yards per return and 3 td’s in only 34 returns.

PR-Jeremy Kerley TCU- 2 TD’s 487 yards, and a spark for the Horned Frogs’ special teams
